GTA 5 not cancelled for PC, says Rockstar

Despite rumors, Grand Theft Auto 5 has not been cancelled for PC. Rockstar Games reaffirmed that the PC version, as well as the Xbox One and PS4 editions, are still on the way, due out in fall 2014.
Responding to fans curious as to the possible cancellation of GTA 5 for PC, a Rockstar Games support rep assured the PC version is still in the works and that the release date "has not changed."
"I'm also looking forward to the PC release, however this release date has not changed," the rep said, directing concerned fans to the official support article regarding release dates for all three versions. As expected, the article still states a fall 2014 release for GTA 5 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Rumors of the cancellation first spawned last week when Fox Weekly reported on an interview with Rockstar's supposed marketing director. The website claimed that the PC version could be cancelled due to "corporate problem," adding that Rockstar "never wanted" to release a PC version.

GTA V for PC May Be Cancelled

Grand Theft Auto V might not make it to PC after all as according to a certain Brad – Rockstar North employee and founder of marketing firm Rantic – the company is planning to cancel the PC version of the game.
According to Brad, who claims to be a marketing director for Rockstar North, during a recent discussion Rantic Chairman John Hoffberger stated that the PC version of the game could soon be cancelled owing to ‘corporate problems. The interview excerpts popped up on Rantic’s site[currently down because of a hack].
Hoffberger said that the company was never willing to go for a PC version of the game but had to build it anyway to meet with high consumer demand. However, the project will soon be culled.
“The next-gen console launch dates are still intact, but the PC game launch has been agitating for Rockstar staff,” John said.
It seems that Rockstar has apparently delayed the launch of GTA V for PS4, Xbox One and PC till 2015. However, if we are to believe Brad’s claims, then we might never see a PC version

GTA 5 PC, Xbox One, PS4 release date revealed: November 14, 2014

The much awaited Grand Theft Auto 5 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 will be released on Nov. 14, according to a British retailer.
Game company Rockstar first announced at the E3 2014 event that the popular GTA 5 will be available in all platforms in the fall. However, the game maker did not specify any date of the release.
The UK retailer, CoolShop, revealed that the exact release date of the game on the three aforementioned platforms will be on Nov. 14. At first, it was thought to be a placeholder. However, the release date was so specific compared to other placeholders that simply posts something like November 2014.
Moreover, there is a question of the price. The game in CoolShop costs £37.96 or $65 for the PC version and no less than £52.96 or $90 for the console version. These prices are way too expensive than the expected price.
Thus, it is advised that gamers should take these rumors as a grain of salt until Rockstar announce the official release date of the PC, Xbox One and PS4 versions of GTA 5.
Meanwhile, players reported about new GTA 5 cheats for PS3 and Xbox 360 that come with the Patch 1.15. According to the players, they get to enjoy unlimited cash, weapons, and others.
Different online sources uploaded a comprehensive list of the new GTA 5 cheats and codes for PS3 and Xbox 360 that will enable gamers to get more vehicles, weapons, funds and even modify the wanted level. The freebies come after players install the new patch.
Reports claimed that there is an unlimited money glitch upon the arrival of Patch 1.15 or the Independence Day DLC. Players enjoy unlimited cash after updating to the said patch update. The money glitch involves the GTA 5 game store. There is no word yet if Rockstar is set to release another patch anytime soon.

Grand Theft Auto: Madrid Teased in Live Action Fan-Made Trailer

Grand Theft Auto: Madrid, huh? Sounds exotic! If only it were as real as the people in this amazing and dead accurate fan parody created in live-action.
Zapruder Pictures, based in Madrid, Spain, have used their city as the backdrop for their recreation of the Grand Theft Auto V announcement trailer. Frame for frame, this is dead on accurate with very little help from CG or other tricks.
I mean, yeah, they made a CG jet, but where are they going to find a real one? And who’s gonna fly it kid, you?
Why just a fan made project? Watching this trailer makes the obvious about the real series so much more noticeable: Grand Theft Auto needs to move beyond the borders of North America. There are so many other fascinating cities in the world which could provide gorgeous architecture and very unique crime worlds. London, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, Stockholm, Johannesburg, Mexico City. Take your pick.
We went to London in an extremely early GTA; why not again?
We’re waiting, Rockstar North. I’d even settle for Edinburgh! You can’ find a game setting in this lovely place?

Celebrate your European heritage with a Grand Theft Auto straight from your own continent. I’m more than willing to bite.

Ubisoft debuted some of the best-looking games of E3 2014 – here are the 5 most exciting ones

Ubisoft is on a roll. Between Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and now Watch Dogs, Ubisofthas a stable of some of the most popular franchises on the market, and the company didn’t disappoint with another huge showing at E3 this year. There weren’t many surprises, but unlike some of the other conferences, many of the games Ubisoft presented will actually be on store shelves at some point this year. This isn’t an outline of the new generation — these are games we’ll all be playing in just a few months.
With just 9 games featured at the live event, it wasn’t hard to pick the five trailers that stood out: Far Cry 4, Assassin’s Creed Unity, The Division, The Crew and Rainbox Six Siege. Of course, both Just Dance 2015 and Just Dance Now (the game’s mobile companion app) should be well-received additions to a very popular franchise. Shape Up also looks like a fresh take on the fitness game genre, and Valiant Hearts: The Great War might have been the most sincere game of the day.
Check out our top five trailers from Ubisoft’s press event below.

Call of Duty: Ghosts needs 50GB ofhard drive space, blame 4K gaming

Last week, and just before the release delay was confirmed, Ubisoft announced that Watch Dogs on PC would require 6GB of RAM to be playable.

It looks like that may be a growing trend for new games as Call of Duty: Ghosts will also require 6GB, but there’s another (massive) prerequisite to playing Infinity Ward’s new game. Nvidia posted the minimum system requirements for Call of Duty: Ghosts on its GeForce website last week.

The specs all look pretty typical for a new game in 2013. That is, until you get to the hard drive requirement. The minimum space required to play Ghosts is a whopping 50GB of space. Compare that to Watch Dogs which only requires 20GB. This 50GB requirement seems likely to only be the case for the PC version of the game.

Eurogamer has speculated that the massive space requirement is due to the size of the textures included on the disc. Nvidia is pushing 4K gaming as a thing right now, and Ghosts is one of the games that will support such high resolution gaming. But to hit that resolution, you need the textures to support it. As both the PS4 and Xbox One will be sticking with 1080p games, the storage requirements should be much lower.

If you intend to take advantage of the 4K option when playing then you’ll definitely need a high-end rig. For everyone else, here’s the minimum system requirements in full: Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 (2.66GHz) or AMD Phenom X3 8750 (2.4GHz) Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti or ATI Radeon HD 5870 6GB RAM 50GB HDD Windows 7 or Windows 8 (both must be 64-bit)
